James has been named Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. The honour recognises his career in broadcast media, as well as in the fight against HIV and AIDS. A UN Goodwill Ambassador since 2009 and currently Special Contributor to China Central Television, he joins a community of leaders under the age of 40, who are selected for their capacity to shape the global conversation. The World Economic Forum announced the full list of Young Global Leaders in a press release. In a separate statement by the United Nations, UNAIDS Executive Director and UN Under Secrteary-General Michel Sidibé said, “James is a passionate and dynamic young leader whose work on HIV has helped to raise awareness and reduce stigma and discrimination. I congratulate him on his admission to the Forum of Young Global Leaders”.
